How we do it....
Hypnotic trance is a natural state that everyone undergoes at least twice a day (going to sleep and awakening). As a Clinical Hypnotherapist it is our skills, knowledge and abilities that can induce this natural state in a clinical setting and take you into a relaxed (yet aware) trance.
Hypnosis simply works in 4 basic stages, these being:
-
Induction - Typically this is performed by tiring the eyes and allowing them to close naturally. Once the eyes are closed suggestion is used to allow even deeper relaxation.
-
Deepener(s) - This uses the skills of the Clinical Hynotherapist along with the imagination of the client to go into a deeper trance - almost (but not quite) asleep.
-
Suggestion - depending on the requirements of the client, the suggestions used could differ but please remember, everything will be positive and you cannot be hurt by anything said or done. Through suggestion, the Hypnotherapist acts as a "sales person" to your subconscious convincing it that a positive benefit of change will be better than existing (potentially self-destructive) behavioural patterns.
-
Awakening - slowly awaking the client from their hypnotic trance state in a controlled manner leaving them feeling refreshed and usually extremely relaxed after their therapy session.
There may be additional stages during the therapy session(s) but these will be discussed with you during your initial free consultation.
